007 First Light Is Bringing Back One of James Bond's Best Traditions

17 April 2026 at 01:45

Hitman developer IO Interactive is aiming to put its own spin on James Bond in 007 First Light, but one longstanding tradition is making its way into this adventure: a Bond song. From Shirley Bassey to Chris Cornell, Bond movies have always attracted some of the best performers of their era, and for 007 First Light, IO Interactive recruited award-winning performer Lana Del Rey to perform and create the title track, which shares the same name as the game. You can listen for yourself in the video embedded below.

And overall? It's a pretty great song! Del Rey's First Light track sounds like it'd fit right in with a modern-day Bond movie, and that's no surprise, as composer David Arnold also worked on the track. Arnold was the composer for five consecutive James Bond movies, starting with Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997 and continuing through to 2008's Quantum of Solace.

"The music of James Bond has always been a huge part of its identity," Arnold said in a press statement. "A title song has to tell us about the world we are about to enter into. It has to intrigue, excite, and beckon us in. This song joins a long line of genre-defining songs, each one creating a benchmark of style that adds to the magnificent heritage that is The Bond Song. That's why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brought elegance, atmosphere, and her totally unique character to this piece, which I hope will open the world of Bond to a whole new audience."

Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Finally Lets You Build Your Own Batcave

17 April 2026 at 01:04

No Batman game would feel complete without a trip to the Batcave, and that's a tradition that many Caped Crusader games have upheld over the decades. In Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, players will get to frequently visit Batman's high-tech hideout, but with a twist, growing and expanding it over time.

Developer TT Games has revealed how players will build their very own crime-fighting headquarters, as the Batcave starts as nothing more than a glorified hole situated underneath Wayne Manor. In a nod to Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne will discover his future lair at a young age and will once again return to it, expanding and transforming the location into his primary base of operations.

Meta Quest 3 VR Headset Prices Are Increasing, Making Reality More Expensive To Escape

17 April 2026 at 00:01

Price hikes have been felt across the entire tech industry lately, and the Meta Quest 3 mixed reality headset is the next piece of premium hardware that's about to get more expensive. Meta has announced that its Quest 3 headset will increase from $500 to $600 for the 512GB model, while anyone looking to grab the entry-level Quest 3S headset can expect to pay an extra $50 for the 128GB and 256GB models when the new prices kick in on April 19.

Meta says that the current global memory shortage has led to price increases, but accessories will remain at their current prices. "We're making this change because the cost of building high-performance VR hardware has risen significantly," Meta said in a statement. "The global surge in the price of critical components--specifically memory chips--is impacting almost every category of consumer electronics, including VR. To keep delivering the quality of hardware, software, and support you expect from the Quest platform, we need to adjust our pricing."

If you're looking to grab a Quest 3 or 3S headset before it becomes more expensive, you can check our list below for the models currently on sale.

Capcom Cracks Down On NSFW Resident Evil Requiem Mods With Mass Takedown

16 April 2026 at 21:42

Resident Evil has been a popular game franchise for modders who specialize in creating adult-oriented mods, and Resident Evil Requiem has been no exception. Mods depicting the main characters in skimpy clothing--and mustaches--started appearing shortly after the game's launch, and one YouTuber has been posting hundreds of videos online showcasing these mods. That activity has finally caught the eye of Capcom, as the developer and publisher of Resident Evil Requiem has contacted the content creator and ordered him to remove over 1,000 of his videos.

"It has come to our attention that these assets have been used to produce adult-oriented mods, and that related videos have been created and published on YouTube," the company's legal team wrote in an email to YouTuber GrizzoUK, which he shared in a stream (via Reddit). In the description for the livestream, GrizzoUK said that his channel was "mistakenly terminated" following the Capcom legal notice and then reinstated, but it still tanked his view count.

"I'll still continue to upload Stellar Blade, Tomb Raider, and many other franchises. It's a shame Capcom did this, but it is what it is, I guess," GrizzoUK wrote, while confirming that he'll still create content themed around mods for games like Stellar Blade and Tomb Raider.

Street Fighter Movie's New Trailer Knows Exactly How Ridiculous It Is And Runs With It

16 April 2026 at 21:03

The first full trailer for Street Fighter has gone live, showing off punches, kicks, and Hadoukens from the upcoming live-action adaptation of Capcom's long-running fighting game franchise. Previous teasers have hinted at Street Fighter being an unabashed love letter to the games--goofy hairstyles and all--and this new trailer only reinforces that push to pay tribute to the arcade roots of the franchise.

Street Fighter features a stacked roster, as Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), Cody Rhodes (Guile), Callina Liang (Chun Li), and David Dastmalchian (M. Bison) headline the action movie. Several other fan-favorite characters like Akuma, Vega, E. Honda, Blanka, and Zangief are also in the movie, while comedian Eric Andre looks to be perfectly cast as the ring announcer Don Sauvage.

During principal photography, Street Fighter 6 game director Takayuki Nakayama even paid a visit to the set, touring the production and taking time to beat Rhodes up--in a friendly game of Street Fighter 6 in the WWE superstar's trailer. "Nakayama squashed me, no mercy," Rhodes said about the encounter.

15 April 2026 at 18:32

Fantasy movies were a dominant force throughout the '80s, largely thanks to one film in particular: Conan the Barbarian. The 1982 blockbuster kicked off a new swords and sorcery boom that decade, and if you're looking to revisit it, a new steelbook edition is on the way from Arrow Video. Now available through Amazon and Walmart, you can pick up this classic fantasy movie for just $32.

This version features the usual mix of Dolby Vision, HDR10, and Dolby Atmos support, and for audio, it has a newly restored original mono audio and remixed Dolby Atmos surround sound.

There's A New Way To Play Hades 2, And It Came Out Of Nowhere

16 April 2026 at 00:08

Hades 2 has made its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and this week has also seen a major post-launch patch released for the roguelite game. While the patch notes detail numerous game improvements and tweaks, the biggest addition to Hades 2 is barely mentioned. Developer Supergiant Games secretly added a new game mode, giving players the option to embark on a different series of clashes compared to the usual runs through the Underworld and Olympus.

Called Dream Drives (and spotted by PCGamesN), this mode is described as "a breezy alternative to your regular nightly routine," and it's designed to keep players guessing about what's next. Each Dream Dive run consists of a series of stages from four arenas, and there's no set pattern to which areas you'll jump into. Enemies are also tougher, but for each region you clear, you'll be rewarded with Shiny Stars. These can be exchanged for rewards once you finish your run.

To start a Dream Dive, you'll need to have first completed the quest to wake up Hypnos. Once that's done, head to the Training Grounds in the Crossroads and look for the new "dreamy bed" found there. Interact with it, and you'll start your first Dream Drive.

This month has several high-profile releases, starting with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. While Forza Horizon 6 won't be coming to PS5 on launch day next month, The Crew Motorfest is a decent alternative. Set in Hawaii, Honolulu, the game features hundreds of fast cars and plenty of events to race them in. Football Manager 26 will let you savor the glory of running your dream soccer team, while Koei Tecmo's action roguelite, Warriors: Abyss, features over 100 heroes to choose from and endless hordes of monsters to battle.

Switch 2 Update Meant To Improve Overwatch Actually Has It Running Worse Right Now

15 April 2026 at 21:16

The Switch 2 edition of Overwatch--the recently rebranded version of Overwatch 2--launched this week alongside the launch of Season 2: Summit, but as players have discovered, the game leaves a lot to be desired on Nintendo hardware. Blizzard originally pitched this updated version of the hero shooter as having improved visuals and up to 60fps in both docked and handheld mode, but there are numerous complaints online claiming that the game is running in a less-than-optimal state currently, with the janky frame rate being a particularly sore point for players.

Blizzard has acknowledged Overwatch's Switch 2 issues, and it says a hotfix is on the way. "We are aware of an issue with the FPS limit on the Nintendo Switch 2 being lower than intended. We are working on a patch to resolve this issue," Blizzard wrote in a forum post.

As noted on the Overwatch subreddit, many feel that the game currently handles worse than the original Switch version, which is surprising given that the Switch 2 is capable of running fairly demanding titles on its modest hardware. Several recent Capcom releases like Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata offer a stable level of performance, in comparison.

Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Will Let You Don Batman's Wild Samurai Armor

15 April 2026 at 03:00

One of the hallmarks of any Lego Batman game is the Caped Crusader's wardrobe. GameSpot can exclusively reveal that in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the hero will be suiting up in the shinobi threads that he donned for the 2018 anime movie Batman Ninja.

While Batman started his adventure in feudal Japan equipped with his modern-day crimefighting outfit, it wasn't long before the battles took a toll on his equipment and he decided to embrace his new role as the Bat Clan's prophesied hero. It's a weird film, but one that did give us a Batman dressed for war in a suit of custom-made samurai armor and a Kabuto cowl shaped like his signature cowl. The suit itself would change once more, taking on a ninja-inspired look for Batman's climactic battle against the Joker.

According to the Wayne-Tech stats, the Batman Ninja outfit is average when it comes to nostalgia--the anime film isn't even 10 years old yet--but in the fields of aura-farming and intimidation? It scores really high.

Amazon's 3 For $33 Deal Makes 4K Blu-Rays A Bargain Again

15 April 2026 at 00:57

Nothing beats a physical collection of movies for your home cinema--especially with streaming services being unpredictable--and Amazon is currently offering a great deal on 4K films. For just $33, you can stock up on a wide range of classics and modern masterpieces, building a sizable collection at an affordable price. Note that the deal only applies if you choose three or more eligible Blu-rays, with Amazon discounting each to $11.

That's a pretty good deal for something that normally costs around $20 on average, and many of these films also include a standard Blu-ray with extras. Digital streaming codes are also included with many releases, but they do have an expiration date, and there's a chance that they may no longer be valid now.

So what's worth picking up? Looking at movies that defined cinema over the decades, there's a lot of great stuff on offer. The influence of Blade Runner is still felt in contemporary sci-fi and Full Metal Jacket is a gripping drama about the dehumanizing training army recruits underwent during the Vietnam War. We'd also recommend Jurassic Park, a movie that rewrote the blockbuster rulebook, or Amadeus if you're in the mood for an epic period piece about dueling composers that still looks and sounds incredible.

30 Years Later, Steamed Hams Is Still One Of Gaming’s Biggest Meme Crossovers

14 April 2026 at 22:49

There's no shortage of memorable moments from the long history of The Simpsons, but without a doubt, "Steamed Hams" sums up everything great about the show. The segment--and the episode it aired in--is officially 30 years old today, marking three decades of viral comedy. It has been reinterpreted across many forms of media, finding new life through remixes that have turned it into something unforgettable--just like Principal Skinner's luncheon with Super Nintendo Chalmers.

Originally airing alongside several other shorts in the season seven episode "22 Short Films About Springfield," Steamed Hams revolved around Skinner telling increasingly outlandish lies to cover up the fact that he had burned the lunch he'd prepared for Chalmers. The joke lived on as a reference point for Simpsons fans, and it steadily grew in popularity as the years passed by. It reached peak popularity around 2017, as creators took to YouTube to upload "Steamed Ham but" videos, deconstructing the meme and transforming it into an evergreen joke.

Naturally, video game parodies weren't far behind. Several developers and video editors have turned Steamed Hams into something resembling an actual game:

Bethesda Acknowledges Starfield PS5 Crashes, Hotfix Coming Soon

14 April 2026 at 21:38

Starfield has arrived on PS5, but it hasn't been smooth sailing as players have reported numerous issues with the Bethesda game--which shouldn't be too surprising, given the studio's history. With players reporting numerous bugs and hard crashes, Bethesda has responded to those complaints and has confirmed that a hotfix will roll out later this week.

"We're aware of some reported PS5 crashing issues and have narrowed them down to a small number of causes," Bethesda said in an online statement. "We're addressing these in a hotfix we're aiming to release this week. Thanks for flagging, and we'll keep you posted."

Buggy launch-week Bethesda games aren't a rarity, but the PS5 launch of Starfield appears to be particularly bad so far. Players have gone online to complain about hard crashes and progression-breaking bugs, while others have reported instances where the game is essentially unplayable in its present form. This has led to requests for refunds, and the problems appear to be hitting both base PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles.

Zach Cregger's Resident Evil Movie Wants You To Feel To Feel Like You're Trapped Inside It

14 April 2026 at 20:19

This year's Cinemacon expo kicked off with a big presentation from Sony, as the company dropped a few closed-door reveals on attendees. Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie was one of the highlights, and new details on the film have begun to circulate online, revealing how the Weapons director is building something that will potentially leave audiences breathless by the time the end credits roll.

According to Deadline, the sneak peek at Resident Evil introduced Austin Abrams as a medical courier caught in the middle of the Raccoon City Incident. The footage showed scenes of Abrams' character stumbling upon a house during a blizzard, after his car had broken down. With the occupants mysteriously missing, Abrams uses a telephone to reveal that all hell has broken loose, and more scenes are shown of him running for his life while infected people chase him. One moment in particular has been described as especially messed up, as the zombies fling themselves at the courier from rooftops and violently collide with the ground.

Speaking at the presentation, Cregger said that he'd played "a sh*tload of Resident Evil" and that he was aiming to give viewers a "scary" ride. Cregger added (via GamesRadar) that Resident Evil will have "no narrative acrobatics, time jumps or disorienting chapter things," and that audiences will be "locked in with a protagonist on a foot journey through a world hellbent on destroying them."

Pickmon, Not To Be Confused With Pokemon, Changes Its Name But Still Looks A Lot Like Pokemon

14 April 2026 at 00:32

Pickmon developer PocketGame has announced that it'll be changing the name of the game by swapping one consonant out for another. Now titled "Pickmos," the studio claims this was done to "better align" with its brand identity, and not because the project bears a striking resemblance to Pokemon and Palworld.

"Since the beginning of development, we have been dedicated to building a unique and profound ecological world. To better align with our brand identity and lore, our title is officially changing--Pickmon to Pickmos," PocketGame wrote in a social media post. "What does 'mos' represent? A complete ecosystem. A grand cosmos! This name carries a more powerful presence, acting as a better vessel for the fantasy adventure we are building for you."

Curiously, creatures in Pickmos are still referred to as Pickmon, which might still land the game in Nintendo's legal crosshairs. While the idea of collecting creatures and sending them out to battle isn't the sole intellectual property of Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, there's no getting around just how blatant some of the Pickmon look when compared to Pokemon. A quick glance at the menagerie reveals creatures that look similar to well-known Pokemon like the series mascot Pikachu and other critters like Charizard, Lucario, and Xerneas. Pickmos has also been accused of using stolen Pokemon fanart by multiple "fakemon" fan artists.

Pragmata Is Being Hailed As An Early GOTY Contender

13 April 2026 at 23:41

Reviews have gone live for Pragmata, and so far, it looks like it might just be a strong contender for game of the year. Something of a rarity from a big publisher in 2026, Pragmata is a completely original IP from Capcom that mixes third-person action with hacking minigames and an endearing story to create a memorable experience. The end result is a game that's both thrilling and engaging, whether you're dodging lethal robots or playing a game of hide-and-seek with Pragmata's adorable co-protagonist, Diana.

"Pragmata is an excellent shooter with a hacking twist that introduces strategic depth and variety, all in service of a heartfelt story," Steve Watts wrote in GameSpot's Pragmata review. "This combination of sharp combat mechanics, rich strategic depth, and lovely storytelling doesn't come along often. Pragmata shouldn't be missed."

On GameSpot's sister site Metacritic, Pragmata currently holds a "generally favorable" metascore of 85 from 54 reviews at the time of writing, putting it in the same company as Pokemon Pokopia (89), Mewgenics (88), and Cairn (85). For Capcom, it's the third major win for the company this year, as Resident Evil Requiem and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection have also been critically acclaimed games since their respective launches earlier this year.
