Save On Video Games, Tech, Trading Cards, And More In Best Buy's Ultimate Upgrade Event

17 April 2026 at 07:38

Best Buy's Ultimate Upgrade Sale kicked off earlier this week, bringing big discounts to hundreds of items through Sunday, April 19. Included in the sale are tons of great gaming and PC hardware, but also a nice collection video games at slashed prices. You can also save on prebuilt gaming PCs, monitors, TVs, headsets, controllers, and even some fun collectibles and trading card game packs. Even some first party Nintendo games are on sale, which is a rare occurrence on their physical media. Whatever you're into, the sale is packed with all kinds of tech deals, so be sure to give the whole catalogue a once-over to see if anything else strikes your fancy.

Video Games

No Caption Provided

Plenty of video games are part of this sale. For Switch owners, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a few bucks off and a great duology of some of the best 3D platformers around. While you can purchase either title individually on the Nintendo eShop at half the price each, many physical collectors (myself included) much prefer having a box and home for their game, and they don't become obsolete like a digital download eventually would. For something with a bit more substance and longevity, Monster Hunter Wilds is a great new entry in Capcom's long-running RPG series, and with free content updates throughout its lifespan you'll get plenty of bang for your buck.

Prebuilt Gaming PCs

No Caption Provided

If you're like me and enjoy PC gaming but the thought of meticulously building your own rig part by part is a bit intimidating, the Ultimate Upgrade sale offers plenty of nice prebuilt battlestations to get you started. The HP Omen 35L prebuilt gaming PC is a powerful build that will be able to run games at pretty high visual quality, and taking $210 off the sticker price is not a bad deal, especially if you prefer to play your games this way.

GameFly's Pre-Played Sale Has Big Deals On Current-Gen Physical Games

16 April 2026 at 07:48

If you're on the lookout for some of best games in the last year or so, constantly buying new games at full retail price can sting. Luckily, preowned titles are easy to come by, and GameFly (yes, that GameFly) is currently having their Pre-Played Sale on used games. You can save up to 50% depending on the title, and if you're a member, you'll also get free shipping. The discounts apply to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X titles, with plenty of games throughout each console's lifecycle available to choose from. Code Vein II for $35 is one of the heavy hitters here, especially after only having been out a few months. Little Nightmares III for $25 is another relatively recent title on sale, but if you're after backlog hits, you can pick up games like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater for $23 or Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth for as low as $18.

Unless otherwise disclosed, every used game you purchase through GameFly is guaranteed to work and comes with all original cases, manuals, and other box inserts. And again, if you're a GameFly member (starting at $13.50/month), you get free shipping. Membership comes with other perks like a $5 coupon and the option to rent games. If you want to test the waters before subscribing, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial.

Most of the games mentioned above are all great single-player experiences, but if you're something to play with friends or grind online with, this sale has plenty to offer. Battlefield 6 is down to $35 (was $40), and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is $30 (was $40). Madden NFL 26 is a great return to form for the annual sports title, and you can pick it up for just $20 (was $30). These days, it seems multiplayer shooters are a dime a dozen, but Battlefield 6 was the best-selling game of 2025, so it must be doing something right. It seems like either of these iconic shooters go on sale all the time, but buying it used is the best way to save even more if you've been wanting to check them out for awhile.

This Month's Build Your Own Fanatical Favorites Bundle Has 20 Games From All Different Genres to Pick From

14 April 2026 at 00:46

Fanatical has offered its fair share of great game bundles over the years, spanning pretty much every genre you can think of. The BundleFest 2026 edition of the Build Your Own Fanatical Favorites Bundle features 20 great games from some of Fanatical's previous bundle deals. Like other bundles, you decide from a curated list of games and decide how many you want. The more games you pick, the more you'll save. This time around, the bundle savings start at 2 games for $7, or $3.50 per game. If you want 3 or more games, it's $3.33 per. Then for 5+ games, you'll get them all for just $3. If you want everything this bundle, it'll run you $54, saving you a whopping 88% off the bundle's $466 value.

It doesn't come up very often, but Fanatical bundles are Steam keys with limited stock. With this bundle, two games are unfortunately already sold out--Isonzo and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Complete Edition. Not to fret, though, as numerous entries included here are double-packs or collections of games, so you could potentially get well over the advertised 20 games. The Cook Series Bundle is one of these, which is a 4-in-1 collection of all the Cook, Serve, Delicious! titles. Then there's the Monument Valley Double-Pack, a duology of both games in the popular puzzle game series. And if you're a racing game fan, the Retrowave Bundle is a 9-item collection of the Retrowave games and their expansions.

Amnesia: The Bunker is one of the biggest hitters here. The WWI-era survival horror game became an instant classic when it launched in 2023, with minimal combat and plenty of scares. It's had a couple of big content updates since launch, with two new modes and a ton of customization options. Martha is Dead is another psychological thriller game that would be great bundled with Amnesia. It takes place in the gorgeous Italian countryside, but its dark themes and haunting gameplay are the real draw.

10 April 2026 at 07:05

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition For the Switch 2 Is An $80 Game Key-Card

9 April 2026 at 23:40

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is finally available to preorder. While we still don't have a release date, preorders going live is a good sign that a launch date announcement could happen soon. The bad news is that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will be yet another Switch 2 Game Key-Card release, and it costs a whopping $80. Now, considering you're getting the original $60 base game and its $40 expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, plus some new exclusive weapons and armor skins, that price makes a little more sense. But the fact that it's a Game Key-Card--meaning it has none of the game data on the cart, and instead simply unlocks access to download the digital version--makes $80 a tougher sell for fans who prefer true physical media.

Nevertheless, fans who want to add the game to their shelves can reserve a physical copy for $80 at Amazon and GameStop. There aren't any preorder bonuses at the moment, but we'll update this post if that changes. And if you're preordering from Amazon, their preorder price guarantee ensures you pay the lowest price between when you preorder and when the game launches, in case there's ever a discount.

Fanatical's New Wholesome Collection Includes Up To 18 Cozy PC Games

7 April 2026 at 06:58

Looking for your next chill and cozy gaming session? Look no further than Fanatical's Build Your Own Wholesome Collection bundle. Like previous Fanatical bundles, you choose from a curated list of games, and the more you add to your bundle, the more you'll save. With the Build Your Own Wholesome bundle, there are 18 games to pick from. The deal starts at 3 games for $10, and you can pick any of the available games. If you want 5 games or more, they'll discount to $3 per game, and if you get 7+ games, they'll drop to $2.85 per game. If you grab all 18 games, that's a $277.82 total value for just $51.30.

We have a detailed breakdown of all 18 games at the end of this article, but for fans of specific genres, we'll break down what you can expect. For puzzle fans, Dogpile is an adorable match-two game where, when you put together two matching dogs, they'll combine into one, much bigger dog. As a dog lover, this game alone was enough to get me to whip out my wallet. There's also Escape from Mystwood Mansion, a first-person puzzle game that (you guessed it) sees an attempt to escape from the creepy Mystwood Mansion by deciphering codes and solving riddles.

For you RPG heads, Rekindled Trails is a quaint adventure game with light RPG mechanics that emphasizes exploration, fishing, cooking, mining, and pretty much anything else you'd expect from the genre. You'll also solve puzzles and help rebuild the various towns of Aurteris after a calamity. If you prefer a more traditional fantasy flavor of RPG, Swords 'n Magic and Stuff is a relaxing open-world co-op game where you and a few friends can delve into dungeons using one of six different character classes. There are over 1,500 items to loot and kit your characters out with, and like any good cozy game, it has plenty of crafting and sim mechanics for you to rest your feet after a long day adventuring.

4 April 2026 at 03:21

For a limited time, you can save on Bandai's line of collectible Pokemon Nanoblock figures at Best Buy. The miniaturized, block versions of our favorite pocket monsters are adorable recreations of their digital counterparts. Almost all of the 'Mons on offer are discounted between $2 and $8 per figure. For example, you can grab the Bulbasaur and Squirtle Nanoblocks for $6 each (were $14). Both are 120-piece kits, so putting them together won't steal too much time away from your Pokemon Pokopia obsession. Note that some discounted figures are already sold out, including the Charmander and Pikachu Nanoblocks. That said, restocks are possible, so it's a good idea to refresh the page every now and then, especially since the sold-out figures are still discounted.

There's a Pokemon Nanoblock figure for almost everyone. Not every type is represented, and some of the more iconic Pokemon are missing from this catalog, but the ones available are still pretty good. For example, the 160-piece Lucario is available for $6 (was $14). It stands almost three inches tall and is the perfect little fighting-type desk companion. For something a little larger, the Mega Charizard Y Nanoblock set is on sale for $6 (was $14). This kit is larger than most of the other discounted Nanoblocks, with 200 pieces and an impressive wingspan.

Launching alongside the PS5 version of Starfield is the game's largest update since launch, which includes a breadth of new features and systems that will offer a deeper experience. An important detail to keep in mind is that, regardless of which version you decide to go for, an internet connection is required to access all the content, including the base game.

Starfield Standard Edition (PS5)

This is the base version of the game, which includes the full base game and access to the Free Lanes update upon launch. Starfield Premium Edition (PS5)

$70 | Releases April 7

You can preorder PS5 copies of Starfield Premium Edition for $70 at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. A digital edition is also available at the PlayStation Store.

Starfield takes Bethesda's signature first-person open-world gameplay fans know and love from The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and gives it a sci-fi twist. Originally released in 2023, it takes place in the Settled Systems, a vast expanse of space comprised of dozens of planets that you can actually travel to and explore. The sheer scale of Starfield's explorable areas was undoubtedly impressive, if a bit underwhelming in terms of things to do.
