Resident Evil: Release Date, Cast, And Everything Else We Know About The Reboot Movie

21 April 2026 at 18:46

For nearly 20 years, the Resident Evil movies were shaped by six films from director Paul W.S. Anderson, starring Milla Jovovich as Alice and earning over $1 billion worldwide. In contrast, the 2021 reboot, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, made just $42 million globally.

Barbarian and Weapons director Zach Cregger has been given the reins for a brand-new Resident Evil movie. After co-founding the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U' Know and starring in sitcoms, Cregger has emerged as one of the most successful horror directors of this generation. His involvement with this project sparked a bidding war, which was ultimately won by Sony Pictures, the studio that released the previous seven films in the franchise.

Most details about Creggerโ€™s Resident Evil movie are still secret. Hereโ€™s a guide to everything we know about the reboot so far.

Overwatch Players Want The New Hero's Ultimate To Be Nerfed

16 April 2026 at 09:47

With the launch of Overwatch Season 2, Sierra has entered the game as the title's 51st character. But if the early reaction to Sierra's introduction is any indication, she may need to be nerfed soon because her ultimate attack can cause massive amounts of damage to opposing players.

When Sierra has 1800 points, her ultimate can fire a drone that drops 23 bombs, each dealing 180 damage. The bombs' impact can be felt up to three meters away, and there's not much players with slower characters can do to avoid being caught in the lethal aftermath.

"I love the drone grapple, [but] her [ultimate] is ridiculous and literally needs to be nerfed today," .wrote a player on Reddit. "Also not a fan of every 6 second aimbot. Love her character design though."

Marathon Pushes Players To Be More Friendly In New Update

15 April 2026 at 01:30

Marathon is getting a mid-season update today, and Bungie is placing an emphasis on teamwork while offering new players incentives to join the game. The biggest change is the CyberAcme Runner Reinforcement Initiative, which gives solo players and teams rewards if they finish objectives and extract themselves at the same time.

As laid out by Bungie, C.A.R.R.I. rewards will be paid out as CyberAcme Commendations, which can be used to purchase weapons, Reputation Packs, and other items from the C.A.R.R.I. Armory. However, the C.A.R.R.I. Armory will only be available through the end of Season 1.

To encourage more collaboration among players, Bungie is introducing a new feature called Stay Together that will allow runners who exfill together at the end of a run to keep the team-up going as a new crew. Players can also revive a downed enemy with the new Mercy Kit consumable with an eye towards turning them into an ally. However, Mercy Kits won't work on members of a player's crew or on the player themselves.

Ex-Overwatch Director Says Tracer's Butt Was Never "Nerfed"

11 April 2026 at 08:45

When the original Overwatch debuted almost a decade ago, the game encounter some pushback over Tracer's victory pose, which some claimed over-sexualized her and placed too much emphasis on her butt. Blizzard subsequently apologized and reworked Tracer's pose. Now, former Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has weighed in on the issue and declared that Tracer's butt was never nerfed.

Kaplan was asked about the issue while streaming his new game, The Legend of California, via IGN. In response, Kaplan said "we actually didn't nerf Tracer's butt. It stayed exactly the same."

Blizzard recently ran into a similar issue and promised to rework the design of Anran, a new female hero whose face was met by a negative reaction from players because she looked too similar to other characters. Earlier this this month, Blizzard unveiled a new facial design for Anran, which emphasizes her maturity over youth and increased her resemblance to her brother, Wuyang.

The FAA Wants To Recruit Gamers For Careers In Air Traffic Control

10 April 2026 at 23:51

The Federal Aviation Administration is officially recruiting video game players to be part of the next generation of air traffic controllers. Part of that push has been accompanied by a new ad campaign aimed at gamers that uses video game footage and Xbox sound effects to make the pitch that players can earn a six-figure salary by applying their in-game skills to the real world.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy shared a statement about the campaign's outreach to a subset of people who may have some of the necessary skills to work in air traffic control.

"To reach the next generation of air traffic controllers, we need to adapt," said Duffy. "This campaign's innovative communication style and focus on gaming taps into a growing demographic of young adults who have many of the hard skills it takes to be a successful controller."

Taco Bell Predicted Mario And Star Fox Crossover Nearly 30 Years Ago

9 April 2026 at 08:52

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie features the first meeting between Mario and Fox McCloud outside of the Super Smash Bros. franchise. But this odd pairing of Nintendo icons was seemingly foreshadowed nearly three decades ago in promotional art for Taco Bell.

On X, Slavko ShyGuy shared a picture of Mario and Fox from Taco Bell's 1997 Nintendo 64 promotion. There wasn't any deeper meaning behind the pairing at the time, it's just kind of fun to see them together two years before the original Super Smash Bros. game was released

Random, silly post. But I just realized somethingโ€ฆ..

As another user pointed out, Taco Bell's promo pics could also be fun to revisit by adding Killer Instinct Gold's Fulgore and a Stormtrooper from Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for the inevitable third Mario movie.

Star Fox For Switch 2 Could Be Announced Very Soon - Report

8 April 2026 at 21:20

Late last month, a report emerged that Nintendo is developing a new Star Fox game for Switch 2. Now, game leaker NatetheHate is reporting that the official announcement may come as soon as this month.

On social media, NatetheHate stated that "Star Fox will be announced this month via Nintendo Today or Twitter." If that's accurate, it would allow Nintendo to capitalize on the appearance of Star Fox's main character, Fox McCloud, in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination boss Chris Meledandri recently shared the story of how Glen Powell landed the part in the sequel.

The Star Fox franchise has largely been dormant since Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard were released for Wii U in 2016. The franchise itself goes back to 1993, as the original Star Fox on SNES was a groundbreaking title for its era. For fans who have never played Star Fox before, there is a way to enjoy the older titles, but it involves signing up for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription.

No Man's Sky Is Adding Pokemon-Style Battles In Xeno Arena

8 April 2026 at 23:50

In the nearly 10 years since its debut, No Man's Sky has undergone some very dramatic changes. But the latest update from Hello Games has taken on even more unexpected directions, including some Pokemon-like battles in the new Xeno Arena.

As laid out in the new patch notes, Xeno Arena's battles will be "simulated combat," so players' creatures of choice won't be hurt by taking part in these matchups. The game is increasing the amount of critters that players can adopt from 18 to 30, and each one has their own set of abilities and moves that will determine their prowess in the arena.

There's also a breeding aspect that can used on the Space Anomaly to genetically modify the offspring of players' creatures with an eye towards certain physical characteristics and attributes. The behavior of each creature will also determine some of its battle stats and the way it behaves during a fight.

Blizzard Unveils Anran's Redesigned Face In Overwatch Season 2

7 April 2026 at 20:53

Earlier this year, Blizzard received pushback from Overwatch players over the appearance of the new hero, Anran, in part because her in-game appearance too closely resembled other characters on the roster. Blizzard subsequently promised to rework Anran, and now the publisher has unveiled her new face ahead of Season 2.

Overwatch director Aaron Keller shared Anran's updated appearance online, and noted that some other subtle changes like her posture were modified to make her seem more like a confident and mature leader.

In Season 2, weโ€™re introducing an updated look for Anran. She didnโ€™t fully land as the fiery and fierce sister of Wuyang that we hoped she would. With this update, our team focused on strengthening her overall presence.

This evolution reflects both our creative intent and theโ€ฆ pic.twitter.com/1AwaVDuzdo

"We focused on her eyes, eyebrows, and mouth, and we moved away from that baby face, look, and expression to something more sincere and more mature," said Keller. "Even something like a simple posture change can help Anran feel, well, more like Anran! We're really happy with the way these changes turned out, and also that she has a closer resemblance to her brother Wuyang."

Pokemon Go's April Fool's Surprise Is Real, And Fans Are Loving It

1 April 2026 at 23:51

One of the most-requested Pokemon is making their debut in Pokemon Go today, and it's not an April Fool's Day prank. Mimikyu has finally come to Pokemon Go, and dedicated players will be able to add them to their lineup starting today. The decision to debut the character on April 1 may be an unusual choice, but Mimikyu's silhouettes are already appearing in the game.

Pokemon Go's Spotlight Hour--which starts tonight at 6pm local time--will feature multiple Mimikyu spawns, as well as Pikachu appearances. But if you can't play during that time, Mimikyu will still spawn for players in addition to appearing in random task rewards.

Mimikyu won't be the only creature debuting Pokemon Go this month. Silicobra and shiny Toedscool are both slated to arrive as part of April's Pokemon Go events. Players will also have the opportunity to catch some Pokemon that are dressed in wild costumes in Fashion Raid Day, which will take place on April 4.
