Resident Evil: Release Date, Cast, And Everything Else We Know About The Reboot Movie

21 April 2026 at 18:46

For nearly 20 years, the Resident Evil movies were shaped by six films from director Paul W.S. Anderson, starring Milla Jovovich as Alice and earning over $1 billion worldwide. In contrast, the 2021 reboot, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, made just $42 million globally.

Barbarian and Weapons director Zach Cregger has been given the reins for a brand-new Resident Evil movie. After co-founding the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U' Know and starring in sitcoms, Cregger has emerged as one of the most successful horror directors of this generation. His involvement with this project sparked a bidding war, which was ultimately won by Sony Pictures, the studio that released the previous seven films in the franchise.

Most details about Cregger’s Resident Evil movie are still secret. Here’s a guide to everything we know about the reboot so far.

The Next Lego Lord Of The Rings Set Might Be That $650 City You've Been Waiting For

21 April 2026 at 01:19

The rumor beacons are lit, as it looks like a Lego Lord of the Rings set that fans have been dreaming about for years might finally be on its way to store shelves.

Reports of a Lego set capturing the capital of Gondor, which extends out of a mountain, have been circulating for quite some time now, and it looks like the fan-favorite Middle-earth location is finally close to an official release. According to new leaks, this might be the biggest Lego set to date purely by the number of bricks included in the fortress city set, but you can also expect it to cost a whopping $650 when it launches.

Images of the set were revealed by the Lego account Brick Built Blogs, showcasing a massive 8,278-piece set. That's several thousand more bricks than previous Lord of the Rings sets, like the Shire (2,017 pieces), the imposing Eye of Sauron AKA the Barad-dΓ»r Tower (5,471 pieces), and the elegant Rivendell (6,167 pieces). Reportedly launching on June 1, the eye-watering price tag makes this one of the most expensive Lego sets of the year--you might want to cut back on buying tiny, juicy tomatoes if you plan to save up for it--and it looks like the full build recaptures the fortress in all of its cinematic glory.

We Like Big Pots And We Cannot Lie: Xbox's Kiln Sweepstakes Gets Cheeky

20 April 2026 at 22:25

Despite what your high school arts teacher taught you, this is a good week to get in the Kiln--specifically, Double Fine's game of the same name about ceramic deathmatches. The studio's new release is billed as a pottery power-fantasy, and to set the tone for what players can expect, Xbox has launched a cheeky new sweepstakes promotion revolving around "butt-iful" pieces of art. And yes, we like big pots, and we cannot lie.

To stand a chance to win one of these ceramic cheeks, all you have to do is follow the Xbox account and repost with the "KilnSweepstakes hashtag. Don't forget to read through a mountain of fine print, either, to see if your entry is eligible.

Dragon Ball's Next Game Is Exactly What You Think

20 April 2026 at 20:41

Earlier this year, Bandai Namco teased a new Dragon Ball game under the working title of Age 1,000. On the weekend, Bandai Namco officially confirmed what many were suspecting, as Age 1,000 is indeed Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Confirmed during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 weekend--which also saw the bittersweet announcement of a final DLC pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2--the game is headed to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.

While details are still light, Bandai Namco did reveal that the game will take place in the distant future. As a member of the Great Saiyan Squad, players will explore West City and protect it from threats. Dragon Ball's late creator, Akira Toriyama, helped shape the story and a "completely new Dragon Ball world " for players. At this point in the timeline, Goku and the rest of the Z Warriors are (presumably) long gone, but in a world with sci-fi technology, Dragon Balls that can resurrect the dead, and day passes from the afterlife, no one truly stays dead for long--especially the poster child for the entire franchise.

The trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 hints at a storyline that's completely separate from the previous games, which revolved around Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time's efforts to protect the timelines from sinister forces. The final DLC for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Future Saga Chapter 4, launches in Summer 2026 and will effectively close the chapter on that game, which first launched in 2016.

28 Days Later Is Getting A 4K Blu-ray--Even Though It Wasn’t Built For It

20 April 2026 at 20:36

Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later has long been considered one of the best zombie-apocalypse movies, but it seemingly couldn't be re-released as a 4K Blu-ray because of the handheld nature of how it was shot. That looks set to change, as an official 4K steelbook edition of 28 Days Later has been announced. Preorders aren't live yet, but a few details have been revealed ahead of its September 1 launch.

28 Days Later Limited-Edition Steelbook (4K Blu-ray)

No Caption Provided

Price: TBA | Releases September 1

Due to limitations with on-location filming in central London, 28 Days Later was shot with lightweight Canon digital camcorders. This allowed the cast and crew to capture scenes quickly, and the footage was saved to MiniDV cassettes, but as a result, all the footage was low resolution, making a remaster tricky and expensive for future home media releases. That's why the standard Blu-ray release never looked great, but the final scenes shot with an Arri camera in higher resolution look noticeably better.

Pokemon-Palworld Clone Pickmos Pulled From Steam As Publisher Promises "Controversy-Free" Rework

17 April 2026 at 22:23

Earlier this week, developer PocketGame announced that it was changing the name of its survival-crafting and creature-collecting game Pickmon to Pickmos. The game bears more than a passing resemblance to Palworld and Pokemon, and amidst heavy criticism of how flagrantly it appears to copy the homework of those games, its publisher, Networkgo, has decided to pull Pickmos from Steam.

In a Steam update, Networkgo explained that it'll be taking a more active hand in the development of Pickmos. "We've heard your feedback regarding the removal of our Steam store page and want to clear things up," the publisher wrote. "Networkgo has officially intervened in the development of Pickmos. We will be supervising the PocketGame team from a player's perspective to ensure the game keeps getting better."

Ever since it was first revealed last month, Pickmos has been accused of being an off-brand Pokemon clone. Claims of PocketGame stealing "Fakemon" designs from Pokemon fan artists to use in the game haven't helped its cause, and its reasoning for changing a single letter of the game title to "better align" with its brand identity has been met with skepticism.

The Dark Souls Of Cat Grooming Games Is Taking The Internet By Storm

17 April 2026 at 21:17

Every so often, a new game takes the internet by storm, and this week, all eyes are on one testy ginger cat. Brush Jjaemu is the name of this new viral hit, and the task is deceptively simple--open up your browser, brush the mercurial orange cat on your screen, and don't die. If Jjaemu spots you while you're brushing him? That's it, game over, you're dead.

To give you a slim chance at survival, Jjaemu will occasionally turn his head and glare at you, warning you to desist from any further attempts to groom his luxurious ginger fur. The game also works on mobile, so whether you're flicking your finger or using a mouse on PC--which probably explains why the hunter instincts are kicking in--you can see just how many strokes you can land before you're subjected to a vicious mauling.

People are currently posting their best runs online, with some people managing to get hundreds of strokes in before Jjaemu goes on the offensive, and judging by the chatter around it, Brush Jjaemu is shaping up to be another online hit. It joins rare company, as over the years, there have been some terrific browser games to play when you're supposed to be getting work done.

This Custom World Of Warcraft Controller Is Made Entirely Of Hot Dogs

17 April 2026 at 20:59

A quick run in World of Warcraft typically requires you to do a few finger gymnastics with a traditional mouse and keyboard setup, but it turns out there is another way to play the game. A meatier way, a method that involves slapping wieners and hoping for the best. We promise we're not making a double entendre joke right now.

Streamer Addison2K had originally experimented with the idea of a hot dog controller during one of their annual Tentathon 24-hour livestreams. The original setup used a controller for movement and a single sausage that could register flicks as inputs.

007 First Light Is Bringing Back One of James Bond's Best Traditions

17 April 2026 at 01:45

Hitman developer IO Interactive is aiming to put its own spin on James Bond in 007 First Light, but one longstanding tradition is making its way into this adventure: a Bond song. From Shirley Bassey to Chris Cornell, Bond movies have always attracted some of the best performers of their era, and for 007 First Light, IO Interactive recruited award-winning performer Lana Del Rey to perform and create the title track, which shares the same name as the game. You can listen for yourself in the video embedded below.

And overall? It's a pretty great song! Del Rey's First Light track sounds like it'd fit right in with a modern-day Bond movie, and that's no surprise, as composer David Arnold also worked on the track. Arnold was the composer for five consecutive James Bond movies, starting with Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997 and continuing through to 2008's Quantum of Solace.

"The music of James Bond has always been a huge part of its identity," Arnold said in a press statement. "A title song has to tell us about the world we are about to enter into. It has to intrigue, excite, and beckon us in. This song joins a long line of genre-defining songs, each one creating a benchmark of style that adds to the magnificent heritage that is The Bond Song. That's why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brought elegance, atmosphere, and her totally unique character to this piece, which I hope will open the world of Bond to a whole new audience."

Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Finally Lets You Build Your Own Batcave

17 April 2026 at 01:04

No Batman game would feel complete without a trip to the Batcave, and that's a tradition that many Caped Crusader games have upheld over the decades. In Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, players will get to frequently visit Batman's high-tech hideout, but with a twist, growing and expanding it over time.

Developer TT Games has revealed how players will build their very own crime-fighting headquarters, as the Batcave starts as nothing more than a glorified hole situated underneath Wayne Manor. In a nod to Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne will discover his future lair at a young age and will once again return to it, expanding and transforming the location into his primary base of operations.

Meta Quest 3 VR Headset Prices Are Increasing, Making Reality More Expensive To Escape

17 April 2026 at 00:01

Price hikes have been felt across the entire tech industry lately, and the Meta Quest 3 mixed reality headset is the next piece of premium hardware that's about to get more expensive. Meta has announced that its Quest 3 headset will increase from $500 to $600 for the 512GB model, while anyone looking to grab the entry-level Quest 3S headset can expect to pay an extra $50 for the 128GB and 256GB models when the new prices kick in on April 19.

Meta says that the current global memory shortage has led to price increases, but accessories will remain at their current prices. "We're making this change because the cost of building high-performance VR hardware has risen significantly," Meta said in a statement. "The global surge in the price of critical components--specifically memory chips--is impacting almost every category of consumer electronics, including VR. To keep delivering the quality of hardware, software, and support you expect from the Quest platform, we need to adjust our pricing."

If you're looking to grab a Quest 3 or 3S headset before it becomes more expensive, you can check our list below for the models currently on sale.

Capcom Cracks Down On NSFW Resident Evil Requiem Mods With Mass Takedown

16 April 2026 at 21:42

Resident Evil has been a popular game franchise for modders who specialize in creating adult-oriented mods, and Resident Evil Requiem has been no exception. Mods depicting the main characters in skimpy clothing--and mustaches--started appearing shortly after the game's launch, and one YouTuber has been posting hundreds of videos online showcasing these mods. That activity has finally caught the eye of Capcom, as the developer and publisher of Resident Evil Requiem has contacted the content creator and ordered him to remove over 1,000 of his videos.

"It has come to our attention that these assets have been used to produce adult-oriented mods, and that related videos have been created and published on YouTube," the company's legal team wrote in an email to YouTuber GrizzoUK, which he shared in a stream (via Reddit). In the description for the livestream, GrizzoUK said that his channel was "mistakenly terminated" following the Capcom legal notice and then reinstated, but it still tanked his view count.

"I'll still continue to upload Stellar Blade, Tomb Raider, and many other franchises. It's a shame Capcom did this, but it is what it is, I guess," GrizzoUK wrote, while confirming that he'll still create content themed around mods for games like Stellar Blade and Tomb Raider.

Street Fighter Movie's New Trailer Knows Exactly How Ridiculous It Is And Runs With It

16 April 2026 at 21:03

The first full trailer for Street Fighter has gone live, showing off punches, kicks, and Hadoukens from the upcoming live-action adaptation of Capcom's long-running fighting game franchise. Previous teasers have hinted at Street Fighter being an unabashed love letter to the games--goofy hairstyles and all--and this new trailer only reinforces that push to pay tribute to the arcade roots of the franchise.

Street Fighter features a stacked roster, as Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), Cody Rhodes (Guile), Callina Liang (Chun Li), and David Dastmalchian (M. Bison) headline the action movie. Several other fan-favorite characters like Akuma, Vega, E. Honda, Blanka, and Zangief are also in the movie, while comedian Eric Andre looks to be perfectly cast as the ring announcer Don Sauvage.

During principal photography, Street Fighter 6 game director Takayuki Nakayama even paid a visit to the set, touring the production and taking time to beat Rhodes up--in a friendly game of Street Fighter 6 in the WWE superstar's trailer. "Nakayama squashed me, no mercy," Rhodes said about the encounter.

There's A New Way To Play Hades 2, And It Came Out Of Nowhere

16 April 2026 at 00:08

Hades 2 has made its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and this week has also seen a major post-launch patch released for the roguelite game. While the patch notes detail numerous game improvements and tweaks, the biggest addition to Hades 2 is barely mentioned. Developer Supergiant Games secretly added a new game mode, giving players the option to embark on a different series of clashes compared to the usual runs through the Underworld and Olympus.

Called Dream Drives (and spotted by PCGamesN), this mode is described as "a breezy alternative to your regular nightly routine," and it's designed to keep players guessing about what's next. Each Dream Dive run consists of a series of stages from four arenas, and there's no set pattern to which areas you'll jump into. Enemies are also tougher, but for each region you clear, you'll be rewarded with Shiny Stars. These can be exchanged for rewards once you finish your run.

To start a Dream Dive, you'll need to have first completed the quest to wake up Hypnos. Once that's done, head to the Training Grounds in the Crossroads and look for the new "dreamy bed" found there. Interact with it, and you'll start your first Dream Drive.
