Sonic X Godzilla Is The Wildest Crossover Yet - Here's Your First Look

From Charles Barkley to the Justice League, Godzilla has let loose his atomic flames in many comic books over the years. But for his next crossover, the King of the Monsters is headed to Moebius for a showdown with none other than Sonic the Hedgehog. GameSpot can exclusively reveal the first look at Sonic the Hedgehog X Godzilla, a new five-issue mini-series pitting Sega's speedster against the apex titan. The images below also tease the arrival of the ultimate lifeform, Shadow the Hedgehog, who'll appear from the second issue onwards.

"When the King of the Monsters and other iconic kaiju mysteriously arrive in the Blue Blur's world, the brilliant and evil Dr. Eggman will try to harness the power of the kaiju for his own nefarious goals. Only Sonic and his amazing allies--including Amy, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow--will be able to stand in the villain's way and try to send the giant monsters back to their own world," the official synopsis for the series reads.

Written by Nick Marino, illustrated by Jack Lawrence, and colored by Reggie Graham, Sonic the Hedgehog X Godzilla will also see several other kaiju appear, including icons like Mothra and MechaGodzilla. The first issue doesn't waste any time in revealing the titans, as an ordinary day thwarting Dr. Eggman's latest scheme is quickly upended by the arrival of the skyscraper-sized threats.

007 First Light Is Borrowing Ideas From Some Of Hitman's Best Game Modes

IO Interactive has shared new details on its upcoming James Bond game 007 First Light, including a new mode that looks inspired by one of Hitman's best post-launch ideas. Called Tac-Sim, players will get to take on missions with various parameters, each one designed to test their 00 agents with increasingly challenging objectives. The mode sounds similar to Hitman's Escalation Contracts and Freelancer, and for added incentive, it includes an online leaderboard to see how you stack up against your fellow agents.

Completing a Tac-Sim will also reward players with experience points that can be spent on gadget upgrades, outfits, and new weapons. To keep things interesting, "Game Changer" modifiers will task players with completing certain sub-objectives, like finding secret notes, taking on powerful enemies, and not firing any rounds. IO Interactive says that it plans to expand on Tac-Sim over time, creating new post-launch content for the game.

Hitman's extra modes helped add hours of replayability to all three games in the World of Assassination trilogy, while Freelancer mode introduced roguelike elements to the experience that reinvigorated Hitman 3 at the time. It's not unsurprising to see these ideas resurface in 007 First Light, as it shares an open-ended approach to its mission structure that looks like it was directly inspired by Hitman.

Nintendo Sued By Fans Who Want Tariff Refunds

Nintendo might have to prepare itself for a lawsuit that could have far-reaching implications for companies aiming to secure a tariff refund from the United States government.

According to new court documents (via Aftermath), two Nintendo customers have filed a proposed class action complaint in the United States District Court's Western District of Washington, with the aim of forcing Nintendo to pass a portion of their tariff refunds back to them. Following the US trade court's ruling that US President Donald Trump's "Liberation Day" global tariffs were illegal, thousands of companies found themselves eligible to receive a refund from the US government.

Several companies like FedEx and UPS are already planning to pass these refunds back to their customers, but what about Nintendo? The gaming giant has said nothing so far, but the brewing lawsuit from plaintiffs Gregory Hoffert and Prashant Sharan could soon change that. In a formal complaint written by their lawyers, Hoffert and Sharan allege that Nintendo could receive a "windfall" if they apply for a tariff refund.

These New Releases Gave Game Spending A Much-Needed Boost In March

March 2026 was a pretty great month for new releases, and according to new data by Circana, games like Crimson Desert, MLB The Show 26, and Pokemon Pokopia contributed to a bumper sales period.

Circana's Senior Director, Mat Piscatella, revealed that video game spending in the US reached $5.3 billion in March 2026, a 12% increase when compared to March 2025. New releases such as Crimson Desert, MLB The Show 26, and Pokemon Pokopia were some of the biggest winners, and video game hardware spending grew by 69% to $500 million when compared to a year ago. The Switch 2 remains the second fastest-selling hardware platform in the US, since Circana began tracking in 1995.

"Nintendo Switch 2 drove the overall gain, while PlayStation 5 spending increased by 3% compared to March 2025," Piscatella wrote. "Nintendo Switch 2 was the best-selling hardware platform across units and dollars for both March and the 2026 year-to-date, with PS5 ranking second across both measures and time periods."

CoD Launches Are Gone, But Game Pass Should Ditch All The Other Games You've Heard Of, Too

For the past few years, getting Call of Duty on release day has been a big reason to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass. Call of Duty is still hugely popular, but now, if you want it on launch day, you'll have to pay for it separately. Microsoft has lowered the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $30 to $23 a month, but this means day-one access to Call of Duty is gone. This move makes sense financially for Microsoft, but I hope it's a precursor to an even bigger move: a new, even-cheaper Game Pass tier that doesn't include big AAA games like CoD.

Give us a Game Pass focused on a curated selection of AA and indie games, price it appropriately, and allow these titles to shine when they're not competing for attention from games and franchises that regularly overshadow them.

One of the big problems with Xbox Game Pass is that its biggest games want to monopolize all of your attention. Call of Duty and Forza Horizon are cleverly designed to be "Forever Games": experiences that demand all your free time and also influence you to spend more on them. The tactics aren't exactly subtle, as Microsoft has experimented with early access to first-party games, allowing you to dive into those titles by upgrading to a deluxe edition for a few dollars more. Microsoft is still making money and getting a monthly pound of flesh out of you by keeping you subscribed to Game Pass, while flashy marketing campaigns and live-service elements keep you hooked for longer.

Xbox Game Pass Price, Day-One Games, And Tiers In 2026 Explained

Microsoft is once again shaking up its Xbox Game Pass service, with drastic changes announced in April 2026 that included a price decrease and the confirmation that new Call of Duty games will no longer launch into the service. If you're looking to join the service or upgrade your current membership, here's everything you need to know about what each Game Pass tier gets you.

Table of Contents [hide]

What is Xbox Game Pass?

Introduced several years ago, Game Pass is a subscription service that offers access to a library of first-party games from Microsoft and even more third-party titles. This a comprehensive collection of games across a wide selection of genres, and it can be accessed on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and through the cloud on compatible devices like phones and tablets.

Games come and go on the service--with additions and removals normally happening twice per month--but the key draw to Game Pass is that you'll get access to the biggest Xbox games on launch day. Or at least that was one of the key selling points. One of Microsoft's biggest franchises, Call of Duty, is no longer going to have its new releases launch into the service (more on that later).

Marvel Rivals Is Now Vampire Survivors With Its New Blood Hunt PvE Mode

A typical Marvel Rivals match consists of PvP action, but if you'd prefer to trade in human opponents for mobs of AI-controlled undead enemies, then you're in luck. NetEase has announced a new PvE mode called Blood Hunt starting April 23, and it sure does look like a Marvel Rivals spin on the mega-popular bullet-heaven game, Vampire Survivors.

Set in the heart of New York City, up to four players can team up to take on Dracula and hordes of foes, bopping them with attacks to make them spout numbers from their heads. Again, the Vampire Survivors inspiration--with a touch of Megabonk--isn't exactly subtle here, but it still looks like a fun mode to try out.

According to the trailer, players can choose from a roster of six characters--Moon Knight, Blade, Squirrel Girl, Thor, the Punisher, and Jeff the Land Shark--and runs will unlock Arcana Scrolls that can be used to buff your hero. These range from health increases to skills boosts, with more scrolls being unlocked if you complete a run on greater difficulties. There's even a selection of gear to choose from that can enhance your chosen character with damage boosts and more buffs.

Devil May Cry Season 2 Trailer Embraces The Series' Most Controversial Chapter

The second season of Netflix's Devil May Cry series is almost here, and the streaming platform has dropped a new trailer for the animated adaptation. While previous trailers haven't wasted any time in reminding people that Dante's reunion with his long-lost brother is going to get violent, it looks like that sibling rivalry will have to wait as the Sons of Sparda will be facing off against not one but two major antagonists: Mundus from the very first Devil May Cry game, and Arius from the game's first--and extremely divisive--sequel.

"A war between worlds ignites as Dante must battle the only force that mirrors his own: his estranged twin brother, Vergil. Dante must confront his own devils and the feeling of family he lost as a child," the official plot synopsis for Devil May Cry 2 reads.

While Mundus is briefly glimpsed in the trailer, it looks like Netflix and showrunner Adi Shankar's interpretation of the character is sticking to the version seen in the games. The de facto ruler of the Demon Realm, Mundus had his plans to invade the Human Realm thwarted by the demon swordsman Sparda.

Resident Evil: Release Date, Cast, And Everything Else We Know About The Reboot Movie

For nearly 20 years, the Resident Evil movies were shaped by six films from director Paul W.S. Anderson, starring Milla Jovovich as Alice and earning over $1 billion worldwide. In contrast, the 2021 reboot, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, made just $42 million globally.

Barbarian and Weapons director Zach Cregger has been given the reins for a brand-new Resident Evil movie. After co-founding the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U' Know and starring in sitcoms, Cregger has emerged as one of the most successful horror directors of this generation. His involvement with this project sparked a bidding war, which was ultimately won by Sony Pictures, the studio that released the previous seven films in the franchise.

Most details about Cregger’s Resident Evil movie are still secret. Here’s a guide to everything we know about the reboot so far.

The Next Lego Lord Of The Rings Set Might Be That $650 City You've Been Waiting For

The rumor beacons are lit, as it looks like a Lego Lord of the Rings set that fans have been dreaming about for years might finally be on its way to store shelves.

Reports of a Lego set capturing the capital of Gondor, which extends out of a mountain, have been circulating for quite some time now, and it looks like the fan-favorite Middle-earth location is finally close to an official release. According to new leaks, this might be the biggest Lego set to date purely by the number of bricks included in the fortress city set, but you can also expect it to cost a whopping $650 when it launches.

Images of the set were revealed by the Lego account Brick Built Blogs, showcasing a massive 8,278-piece set. That's several thousand more bricks than previous Lord of the Rings sets, like the Shire (2,017 pieces), the imposing Eye of Sauron AKA the Barad-dΓ»r Tower (5,471 pieces), and the elegant Rivendell (6,167 pieces). Reportedly launching on June 1, the eye-watering price tag makes this one of the most expensive Lego sets of the year--you might want to cut back on buying tiny, juicy tomatoes if you plan to save up for it--and it looks like the full build recaptures the fortress in all of its cinematic glory.

We Like Big Pots And We Cannot Lie: Xbox's Kiln Sweepstakes Gets Cheeky

Despite what your high school arts teacher taught you, this is a good week to get in the Kiln--specifically, Double Fine's game of the same name about ceramic deathmatches. And yes, we like big pots, and we cannot lie.

Dragon Ball's Next Game Is Exactly What You Think

Earlier this year, Bandai Namco teased a new Dragon Ball game under the working title of Age 1,000. On the weekend, Bandai Namco officially confirmed what many were suspecting, as Age 1,000 is indeed Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Confirmed during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 weekend--which also saw the bittersweet announcement of a final DLC pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2--the game is headed to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.

While details are still light, Bandai Namco did reveal that the game will take place in the distant future. As a member of the Great Saiyan Squad, players will explore West City and protect it from threats. Dragon Ball's late creator, Akira Toriyama, helped shape the story and a "completely new Dragon Ball world " for players. At this point in the timeline, Goku and the rest of the Z Warriors are (presumably) long gone, but in a world with sci-fi technology, Dragon Balls that can resurrect the dead, and day passes from the afterlife, no one truly stays dead for long--especially the poster child for the entire franchise.

The trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 hints at a storyline that's completely separate from the previous games, which revolved around Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time's efforts to protect the timelines from sinister forces. The final DLC for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Future Saga Chapter 4, launches in Summer 2026 and will effectively close the chapter on that game, which first launched in 2016.

28 Days Later Is Getting A 4K Blu-ray--Even Though It Wasn’t Built For It

Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later has long been considered one of the best zombie-apocalypse movies, but it seemingly couldn't be re-released as a 4K Blu-ray because of the handheld nature of how it was shot. That looks set to change, as an official 4K steelbook edition of 28 Days Later has been announced. Preorders aren't live yet, but a few details have been revealed ahead of its September 1 launch.

28 Days Later Limited-Edition Steelbook (4K Blu-ray)

No Caption Provided

Price: TBA | Releases September 1

Due to limitations with on-location filming in central London, 28 Days Later was shot with lightweight Canon digital camcorders. This allowed the cast and crew to capture scenes quickly, and the footage was saved to MiniDV cassettes, but as a result, all the footage was low resolution, making a remaster tricky and expensive for future home media releases. That's why the standard Blu-ray release never looked great, but the final scenes shot with an Arri camera in higher resolution look noticeably better.

Pokemon-Palworld Clone Pickmos Pulled From Steam As Publisher Promises "Controversy-Free" Rework

Earlier this week, developer PocketGame announced that it was changing the name of its survival-crafting and creature-collecting game Pickmon to Pickmos. The game bears more than a passing resemblance to Palworld and Pokemon, and amidst heavy criticism of how flagrantly it appears to copy the homework of those games, its publisher, Networkgo, has decided to pull Pickmos from Steam.

In a Steam update, Networkgo explained that it'll be taking a more active hand in the development of Pickmos. "We've heard your feedback regarding the removal of our Steam store page and want to clear things up," the publisher wrote. "Networkgo has officially intervened in the development of Pickmos. We will be supervising the PocketGame team from a player's perspective to ensure the game keeps getting better."

Ever since it was first revealed last month, Pickmos has been accused of being an off-brand Pokemon clone. Claims of PocketGame stealing "Fakemon" designs from Pokemon fan artists to use in the game haven't helped its cause, and its reasoning for changing a single letter of the game title to "better align" with its brand identity has been met with skepticism.

The Dark Souls Of Cat Grooming Games Is Taking The Internet By Storm

Every so often, a new game takes the internet by storm, and this week, all eyes are on one testy ginger cat. Brush Jjaemu is the name of this new viral hit, and the task is deceptively simple--open up your browser, brush the mercurial orange cat on your screen, and don't die. If Jjaemu spots you while you're brushing him? That's it, game over, you're dead.

To give you a slim chance at survival, Jjaemu will occasionally turn his head and glare at you, warning you to desist from any further attempts to groom his luxurious ginger fur. The game also works on mobile, so whether you're flicking your finger or using a mouse on PC--which probably explains why the hunter instincts are kicking in--you can see just how many strokes you can land before you're subjected to a vicious mauling.

People are currently posting their best runs online, with some people managing to get hundreds of strokes in before Jjaemu goes on the offensive, and judging by the chatter around it, Brush Jjaemu is shaping up to be another online hit. It joins rare company, as over the years, there have been some terrific browser games to play when you're supposed to be getting work done.

This Custom World Of Warcraft Controller Is Made Entirely Of Hot Dogs

A quick run in World of Warcraft typically requires you to do a few finger gymnastics with a traditional mouse and keyboard setup, but it turns out there is another way to play the game. A meatier way, a method that involves slapping wieners and hoping for the best. We promise we're not making a double entendre joke right now.

Streamer Addison2K had originally experimented with the idea of a hot dog controller during one of their annual Tentathon 24-hour livestreams. The original setup used a controller for movement and a single sausage that could register flicks as inputs.

007 First Light Is Bringing Back One of James Bond's Best Traditions

Hitman developer IO Interactive is aiming to put its own spin on James Bond in 007 First Light, but one longstanding tradition is making its way into this adventure: a Bond song. From Shirley Bassey to Chris Cornell, Bond movies have always attracted some of the best performers of their era, and for 007 First Light, IO Interactive recruited award-winning performer Lana Del Rey to perform and create the title track, which shares the same name as the game. You can listen for yourself in the video embedded below.

And overall? It's a pretty great song! Del Rey's First Light track sounds like it'd fit right in with a modern-day Bond movie, and that's no surprise, as composer David Arnold also worked on the track. Arnold was the composer for five consecutive James Bond movies, starting with Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997 and continuing through to 2008's Quantum of Solace.

"The music of James Bond has always been a huge part of its identity," Arnold said in a press statement. "A title song has to tell us about the world we are about to enter into. It has to intrigue, excite, and beckon us in. This song joins a long line of genre-defining songs, each one creating a benchmark of style that adds to the magnificent heritage that is The Bond Song. That's why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brought elegance, atmosphere, and her totally unique character to this piece, which I hope will open the world of Bond to a whole new audience."
